Betsy & Greg : Rainy Day Wedding
After the ceremony, Betsy and Greg went to the Sutro Baths. At first, there was just mist. It was pretty cold out, but they kept each other warm on the rocks. We were out there for maybe 10 minutes when it started to drizzle. You can actually spot the rain if you look carefully.
This is when it started to pour. It was as if we were caught in a freezing cold Monsoon. The three of us ran back up the steps to the limo to escape from the rain.
As soon as we got into the limo, we realized that it was actually leaking. The roof of the limousine was leaking and we were getting drenched INSIDE of the limo!
This is when I realized how perfect Betsy and Greg are for each other. A lot of little things had gone wrong during the day (the cake was delivered to the wrong place, things couldn’t be found, people were late, there was no parking, it started raining, their clothes were getting drenched, we were off schedule, the limo’s top is broken), and they were just laughing and keeping each other warm and shielding each other from the water. I watched them in awe. So many other people would be breaking down or fighting at this moment, and here were these two just happy to be together. I was soaking wet, too, but I was so happy to be there, getting to witness this moment and the two of them together.
Stay tuned for their super cool reception! Did the reception venue’s roof give out? Were all the guests soaked in water? Tune in next time for the conclusion!

Betsy & Greg :: San Francisco City Hall Wedding
San Francisco’s City Hall is absolutely gorgeous. Did you know that Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe also got married here? It’s such a gorgeous place to get married….it was even featured in the Wedding Planner (I’m a sucker for rom-coms).
Before their ceremony, Betsy and Greg got to spend some time together. Here’s a picture of them hiding out at the top of the building sharing a moment:
This next photo really reminds me of that scene from Beauty and the Beast where Belle walks down the grand staircase. Betsy and Greg met in the middle of the grand staircase and walked down together.
I love their placement on the stairs. Everything is so elegant.
Their sponsors placing a cord and veil around them.
Here they’re saying their vows!

Betsy & Greg :: San Francisco Wedding Photography
You may remember Greg and Betsy from THIS date-night engagement session.
Well they got married! They actually got married a while ago, but I hadn’t blogged their wedding photos. As you might’ve noticed, I haven’t been the best at updating my blog. Nevertheless, going through these photos again, I got to relive their wedding day and was just so happy. Betsy had a group of wonderful ladies surrounding her on her big day to support her.
Aren’t these shoes the cutest! Betsy added the cute turquoise ribbons herself.

Betsy’s dress is such a gorgeous lace! Look at her beaming! The necklace around her bouquet was her grandmother’s.
Here they’re off to City Hall for the wedding!
Come back next week for photos of the ceremony!

Family Portraits in Sweden
I never did post a part 2 to my Swedish photo post, did I? Well, I never mentioned that during my stay in Sweden, I did a family portrait session! This session is dear to me because I really treasure the time I spent with this family during my stay. Johan is my husband’s cousin and we did this session on the family’s property on an island in the archipelago.
The island has been in the family for 5 or 6 generations and they come here every year in the summer so it meant a lot to all of us to be able to shoot here!
Helena, Marcus, Johan, and Moa.
Marcus is super silly and brought so much energy to the shoot! He had a lot of ideas for poses, too, and wanted to direct me a lot. The pose on the left is his idea. =)

Happy New Year!
Friends! Happy New Year! Okay, I’ve got a resolution to make: 2012 will be the year that I update my blog at least once a week. I’m sorry I’ve been gone. It makes me feel less connected to my clients and viewers, so I’m making an effort to change that!
I have a lot of really fun photo shoots that I’ve been hiding from you guys so I’m going to share them! This week starts with Hitasha and Shawn’s modern engagement shoot at SFMOMA. I know I’m known for my vintage photography, but even I yearn for clean simple lines and a bright white backdrop on occasion. You should see my apartment. Clean lines everywhere (really, it’s just IKEA).
So here’s the shoot I did with Hitasha and Shawn! I hope you like it.

The architecture at SFMOMA is absolutely gorgeous. I love the lines, the monotone palette, and simplicity of it.
The shot above was done in front of an art installation that had flickering lights mimicking shadows of people. But I just love how these two look at each other.

SFMOMA is a fantastic place for many reasons: gorgeous modern and contemporary art, beautiful architecture, and a cafe and sculpture garden at the top of the building! They serve desserts inspired by art and there’s blue bottle coffee.
Sneaky kiss!
That’s all I’m sharing from the shoot! Come back next time. Who knows what will be up! Maybe pictures of my puppy. Or a wedding. Or my puppy’s wedding. Just kidding. He’s neutered.

Julie & Zack:: Tilden Park Carousel Wedding:: Berkeley, California
I loved all of the details from this wedding. Without further ado, here ya go:
There’s something about disembodied hands in photographs that makes me smile.
Look! Cute jam wedding favors!

It’s a cheesecake that looks like cheese! Get it?
Okay, next week, you get to see PEOPLE!

Julie & Zack : St. Mary’s Wedding
I think I forgot to mention that Julie and Zack had their ceremony at St. Mary’s College, where they had attended school. Here are a few of the ceremony photos. My favorite part was their interaction during the ceremony. They kept looking at each other, giggling, and giving each other loving looks.

Julie & Zack :: Tilden Park Wedding :: Part 1
I’ve been bad about updating because, well, I have a new puppy and am also shooting a zillion weddings (note: hyperbole). Most of my time has been spent behind a computer working with lightroom/photoshop and just editing editing editing with puppy breaks in between. I worry more about getting my clients their images than showing them to the rest of the world, but I figure it’d be nice for you to see what I’m up to.
So this was Julie and Zack’s wedding. They had the most beautiful DIY wedding ever (wedding antiques, handmade details, etsy wedding galore)! But you don’t get to see those images now. Now, you get to see the getting-ready part, which is just as gorgeous.
Julie and her ladies got ready at the Durant Hotel in Berkeley, California, which is where scenes from The Graduate were shot! Luckily, Julie and Zack’s relationship is nothing like Mrs. Robinson’s and Benjamin’s!
I love these classy vintage blue pumps!
I love the matching floral robes that Julie gave her bridesmaids. The colors are so fresh and the print is floral and feminine without being grandma-esque. It made the atmosphere seem more like a relaxing spa-day than a hectic morning-of-the-wedding.
The ladies gave Julie a beautiful book they made commemorating their friendship. Everyone teared up!

Her sister and maid of honor helps adjust her dress.

Travel Photography :: Sweden’s Beauty :: Part 1
I’ve been in Sweden for the past three weeks or so, mostly on the outskirts of Stockholm, although for the next few days, I’m actually staying in the city.
Sorry for no real updates! I’ve been soaking up what sun Sweden has decided to share, but today it is pouring rain outside so I’m staying in, looking at sunny pictures to remind myself that sometimes it’s warm here.
The following photos were taken during my first couple of days in Sweden. Jesse and I are shuffling between staying at three of his uncles’ houses so we’re getting a good taste of Stockholm’s suburbia!
The suburbs here aren’t the concrete jungles I’m used to in California—the ones with huge intersections and no one walking around. It’s so picturesque, at least in Åkersberga. Nature and society seem more harmonious. I like that. Also, the public transit is absolutely amazing. I can get anywhere I want without a car, and it doesn’t take long! And it’s so much more affordable than BART in San Francisco or Berkeley is. Sheesh!
Anyway, I have so many more photos but I’ll save ‘em for another post!
